Located in the heart of Alexandria's Old Town, Union Street Pub has been a long-standing favorite. It was the perfect place for promotion parties - I was there for military promotions for my daughter when she made Major in the Army JAG, and the catering was outstanding. Stopped by there on a recent weekday and Oliver served up a perfect Irish boilermaker, with Rock Cider ($8) and Buffalo Trace ($16). It's a handsome old-school pub, and Old Town is lucky to have it.

We enjoyed our dinner in the dining room. Our server was fast and attentive. We tried the crab dip which was amazing. The gumbo and the steak and frites. For dessert we got the creme brûlée of course. They have an extensive bourbon list which was a huge hit for my husband as he LOVES his unique and rare bourbons - they even had an Evan Williams toasted barrel RYE. Overall the food was good and this place was cozy for a nice dinner.

Best dinner we have had in a long time! Fish was fresh and delicious and food was seasoned to perfection! Drinks were also perfect and service was excellent! A totally special experience!

Nice little spot. Food was really really good. Service was very attentive and overall solid. Ambience was amazing. A little chilly at the bar and the parking was standard city parking. Overall cleanliness was 10 out of 10.

I came here for dinner after running the Marine Corps Marathon earlier in the day. Since it was just me, I found a seat at the bar. I ordered their New York Strip Steak. It came with mashed potatoes. I'm a meat and potatoes kind of guy, so this was the perfect recovery meal for me! I've had better elsewhere, but this was a decent steak. The bartender was very nice and friendly even though I didn't order any alcohol.

I've been a bunch before and this time around they really have leveled up their food. Brunch isn't my favorite meal however they have me wanting to come back. Their french toast was fluffy snd cooked to perfection, the wings were a crowd favorite - cooked/coated perfectly. Service is always quick and friendly. Lots of open seating, great for big groups!!!

Ugh. I didn't want to review for selfish reasons because I don't want anyone else to know about this place. Dare I say it, but this is my new fav whiskey bar in the area. While I won't tell you how to find it, should you find it, you will be hosted by a gentleman named Tim. Tim is genuinely a good human being. It's one thing to have a job, but another to actually do what you love, and that's Tim. He really enjoys being there and it's very apparent in his interactions with everyone. Tim makes a MEAN smoked old fashioned; not only is it a great drink but there's a bit of presentation. That goes along with it. The bourbon/whiskey selection is nice too; they have a rotating allocated menu which adds variety to your visits. The food menu is nice...but if you ask Tim nicely, he will produce his special (and new) menu for you that he curated himself. It just so happened that I was the first one to order the smash burger (I know this to be face because Tim told me so) which ended up being a wholesome anecdote. Apparently, the chef had been wanting to make it but no one ordered it so not only was the chef excited to finally make it, he made extra for a few others in the back. This was a damn good burger. Period. The burger was juicy, still had a little pink in the middle, was seasoned well...it was great. The garlic fries were just as good. I don't know if the chef is a genius or if it was unintentional, but the fries didn't have an overbearing garlic flavor, but enough that I had to try more to make sure it was there, and the more I ate the more I wanted until they were all gone. Loved it all.

The food, ambiance, and service here are great! My friends and I ordered the crab cake platter, a dozen of the raw oysters, and crab dip. We also shared the bleu cheese burger and some grilled buffalo wings that aren't pictured. All of the food was fresh and seasoned well. The only thing I wished for was the oysters to taste sweeter. Other than that, I loved every dish! Overall, I think this is a great spot to eat at. There is a really good variety of dishes that can be shared and enjoyed!
